As a long-time user of RoboForm, I can confidently say that it is one of the best password managers on the market. Well, at least for me! I have been using it for years to store and manage my passwords, and it has never let me down. In this review, I will share my experience using RoboForm and why I would recommend it to anyone looking for a secure and convenient way to manage their passwords. With many other password managers out there, I sometimes see Roboform missing from the mix. I wanted to share some love for the app that I’ve come to rely on over the years!
First of all, RoboForm is incredibly easy to use. It offers a clean and user-friendly interface that allows you to easily navigate through the different features. Setting up the account is a breeze, and the initial setup wizard guides you through the process of creating your master password, setting up security options, and importing your existing passwords. Once set up, you can start using it right away to store and manage your passwords. I’ve been using it for many years and some minor quirks have been mainly due to the format of certain websites. I’ve also seen Roboform improve over the years, gradually including more functionality, and becoming easier to use.
One of my favorite features, well the “main” feature of course, of RoboForm is its password generator. The tool can create strong, random passwords that are unique to each account, and it can save these passwords automatically. This is extremely helpful because it ensures that you are using unique, strong passwords for each account, which is crucial for online security. It’s nice to be able to quickly generate complex passwords at different lengths (e.g, I use 16 characters minimum but you can make the passwords much longer if you wish) and never have to remember them. Roboform does that for you!
One feature that developed over the years was the sync feature. This didn’t exist when I was an early adopter of Roboform years ago. I might have switched to another platform without this functionality. -You need a good reason to switch when you have hundreds of passwords and other info saved in an application… RoboForm’s sync ability is a feature that allows users to synchronize their passwords and other sensitive data across multiple devices. This feature ensures that users have access to their passwords and data regardless of the device they are using, making it a convenient and efficient way to manage passwords.
To use RoboForm’s sync ability, users must create a RoboForm Everywhere account. This account serves as a central hub for all of their password and data management needs. Once the account is created, users can download the RoboForm app on any device they want to use and sign in using their RoboForm account credentials.
When a user signs in to a device for the first time, RoboForm will automatically synchronize their data across all devices that are associated with their RoboForm account. This ensures that passwords and other sensitive data are always up-to-date and accessible on all devices.
The sync ability also includes automatic backup, which ensures that a user’s data is always safe and secure in case of device loss or damage. Additionally, the sync ability allows users to manage their data across multiple devices and share passwords and data securely with trusted contacts.
Another great feature of RoboForm is its form-filling capability. This feature saves you time by automatically filling in your personal information, such as your name and address, on web forms. You can also save different identities to use with different profiles or accounts, making the process even more efficient.
RoboForm also offers a wide range of customization options, allowing you to tailor it to your specific needs. You can customize the user interface, the password generator options, and the security settings. This makes it easy to use and customize, regardless of your skill level.
Another advantage of RoboForm is its multi-platform support. It is available on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, so you can easily access your passwords and other information from any device. The syncing process is seamless, which means you can easily use it across multiple devices.
In terms of security, RoboForm is one of the most secure password managers available. It uses 256-bit AES encryption to protect your data, and it offers two-factor authentication for added security. You can also set up emergency access, allowing trusted contacts to access your passwords in case of an emergency.
One feature I find useful is SafeNotes. RoboForm’s SafeNotes feature is a secure note-taking tool that allows users to store sensitive information and other notes. This feature provides the same level of security and encryption as RoboForm’s password storage feature, ensuring that your notes are protected from prying eyes. SafeNotes can be used to store a variety of information, such as account numbers, credit card details, and other sensitive information that you don’t want to store in plain text.
With SafeNotes, users can easily access their notes across all devices, making it a convenient and secure way to manage important information. I often use SafeNotes to safely store important and sensitive family member information. It makes sense when they are not doing so and I have some peace of mind that I can quickly access the info via the mobile app or a browser.
Overall, I highly recommend RoboForm as a password manager. It offers a wide range of features, is user-friendly, and provides strong security. Its password generator and form-filling capabilities save time and ensure the highest level of security. Whether you are an individual user or a business, RoboForm is a reliable and trustworthy password manager that I can highly recommend. I know there are many other password managers out there! Let me know which password managers you use and love. -Willie
